All the
violence and awful living conditions that took over Irak
during Saddam Hussein´s terrifying period, were soon
surpassed by American invasion that took place two years
ago. The United States are ironically named Kabir Shetam
"great Satan" by people in the region.

I left
Amman, by bus, together with seven passengers. At the
frontier my passport was sealed without the need of Visas
or extra payments. From that point on, the road became
a modern motorway, ruined here and there. In that flat,
ochre, desert landscape, winds gather sand on both sides
of the road. It took us almost a day to cover the 1000
kilometers to Bagdad.

Firdos
square, at the very heart of Bagdad. Here it used to be
a Saddam Hussein´s statue, pulled down and replaced
by the green sculpture seen at the back. The place looks
desolated. In the nearby, there are the hotels Sheraton
and Palestine, chosen by many press correspondents.

Blatant
unemployment carries many Iraqian men to enroll at the
so-called "new Iraqian police force". They are
in charge of the worst part of the security tasks, barely
protected against attacks and car bombs by bags full of
sand and rudimentary parapets.

Aún bajo las
limitaciones impuestas por los acontecimientos bélicos
(zonas prohibidas, permanentes controles, carteles "No
masiva".
Even
under the limitations imposed by war time (restricted zones,
permanent controls, "no photo" signs everywhere)
it is clear that the only valid reason for the invasion
carried out by the Hyper Power has been the desire to take
hold and loot to the last drop of hydrocarbon of the country.
In fact, with huge crude oil reservations, Irak was the
true "jewel" of the region. Being the governments
(and its oil fields) of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, already
subdued and dominated, the "falcons" (and may
that animals forgive me for such infamous comparison) from
Kabir Shetam wished to complete the appropriation under
any possible excuse. That was the search for "massive
destruction weapons"

From
Jumhuriya bridge Apache helicopters can be seen overflying
downtown Bagdad, crossed by Tigris river. This used to be
a prosperous zone, where locals gathered to eat fresh fish
and smoke water pipe during warm summers. Now it is desolated.

Antenas
y equipos satelitales quedaron destruidos.

especialmente norteamericanas.
In the
ground floor of this building and at the rear part of it,
people have improvised little shops. The UN seizure, which
for more than a decade isolated the country (1990-2003)
is now over. In that marketplace it can be found a lot of
western trinkets, mainly of American origin.

Las calles de Bagdad
presentan aspecto desolador. Debido a que la red eléctrica
se halla destruida, muchos edificios utilizan viejos generadores
portátiles alimentados a gasoil.
Bagdad
streets show a devastating image: as mains are destroyed,
many buildings use old portable diesel generators, adding
up to pollution: environment gets deafening and air is
full of black smoke from generators, while the soil is
covered by oil and diesel oil flowing everywhere.

Pocas veces he visto
Shetam.
So many
little times had I seen a nation suffer such atrocious living
conditions. Saddam Hussein´s tyranny - which wiped
out its own people with weapons provided by the more "Civilized"
nations, which used its own people as cannon fodder to contain
the Iraqi Islamic Revolution (under the sponsorship and
approval of Western countries) and which (finally) took
hold of Kuwait- was followed by this present Kabir Shetam´s
invasion.

Saddam Hussein spoiled the party which had been born in
1947 as a pan-arabic, socialist and laical force.

To describe
caos, anarchy and misgovernment now prevailing in Irak is hard
to imagine. In opposition with Afganistan (another key spot that
the Great Satan craves to chew but still cannot) Irak is a country
of natural as well as strategic richness. It is the only country
in Mid East that counts not only with huge oil fields but also
with water resources, Tigris and Eufrates rivers form the Asian
Mesopotamia. Thanks to this water richness the most ancient human
civilization settled here more than six hundred years´time
ago.

Me alegró.
"Amigo artista: ven a Irak, y pinta, canta, baila;
Lali Sacomani 22-9-03".

that destroys ancient cultures. Lali Sacomani. 22-09-03"

Nowadays,
iraqian people undergo hunger, death and repression, and
their country is still being torn apart by Great Satan´s
voracious pillage, in the name of freedom, democracy, safety

then invade and destroy the country (and in the meanwhile,
try new weapons), and finally, hand it to "friends"
"to reconstruct it".

thus consolidating their power.

This
is how the things are in this present stage of humanity.
Great Satan is about to become the first universal empire
in whole history and any and every richness in the planet
must be at his service. If any country refuses to pay
such servitude, all the punishments shall fall upon it
in many ways: seizures and economic blockings, restraining
policies, war. Such is the case of Irak, where oil richness
has turned into a true curse for its inhabitants.
Numbers put reality in black and white: from the crude
reserves now known, Irak has 6 times more than its invaders
and spends 50 less than its "saviours". Therefore,
if numbers stabilize, Irak has petroleum for a period
300 times longer than EEUU. Should these figures explain,
in any case, why the Resistence is labeled as "terrorist"
when fighting against "the saviours"
After ending my trip to Irak, I doubt if the "saviours"
and their thousands of mercenaries and contractors are
not the terrorists themselves.
